Focus on one currency pair or commodity to start. Pick something you are interested in or have some insight on. For example, if you're in Canada you might choose to focus on the USD/CAD pair.

- Check to see if it is regulated by a recognized authority
- Read over the Terms and Conditions to make sure they are fair
- Perform testing of the platform in demo mode, including user experience and customer support
- Deposit funds on to the platform and make at least one successful withdrawal
- Start referring members of our 'top traders list' to the platform
- If there are no complaints after 4 to 6 months, we will determine that the platform is safe to trade with

Rather than focusing on the scam sites, why not just look at our top rated platforms? The Regulated Forex trading list has the best safe options for you. If there is a green check beside the link, it is a secure platform to trade on. You can also use the Search.. function at the top of that page to look for sites that we have warnings about. There are over 200 platforms listed now, and we are constantly adding more.

I would not recommend any automated trading programs.
There are some signal services that seem to work quite well. Normally they will require you to take action and complete the trade. Once you get into automatic trades, however, it can get a little sketchy.
